Introduction
fckgLite is a Javascript implementation of the FCKeditor for DokuWiki. It is built on the DokuWikiFCK architecture, but it does not require the Perl module needed for DokuWikiFCK. This makes for a simpler installation, and it can be installed using standard DokuWiki installation procedures.
fckgLite saves all its documents in native DokuWiki format; what this means is that it cannot support many of the graphic features of the FCKeditor, such as font selection, color, fancy tables, horizontal image and text positioning, etc. Nevertheless, it attempts to support all DokuWiki markup with the exception of HTML , php, and email-style comments and should make a convenient interface for users who do not need the graphic capabilities of DokuWikiFCK. As between fckgLite and DokuwikiFCK, fckgLite has in fact come to be the more popular choice.
fckgLite is incompatible with DokuWikiFCK. If you are using DokuWikiFCK, you must remove the fckg directory from the DokuWiki plugins directory before installing fckgLite.
Please keep in mind that fckgLite is under constant revision; so you might want to check back here periodically to get the latest revisions. All feedback on issues will be very much appreciated; use the mailing list or dokuwiki forum.

Versioning System
fckgLite is distributed in three formats, each designated by its own numeric prefix:
- A distribution in which file browsing is not ACL -aware and may be suitable for single-user installations of Dokuwiki or installations in which all users have equal access to the file system;the numeric prefix for this distribution is 0.
- A distribution with an ACL compliant file browser; its numeric prefix is 02.
- A distribution with an ACL compliant file browser that also supports non-Roman alphabets in URLs and file and directory names Here the numeric prefix is 03.
Each version of fckgLite is designated by it own version number. The current version number is 04. Each of the three formats is known by its prefix followed by the version number. They are currently 0.04, 02.04, and 03.04. Updates are designated by the date/time-stamp of the update. The date/time stamp consists of Year–Month_day–minute_seconds.
A distribution designation has the following configuration:
<format prefix>.<version>.<date/time-stamp>
As of this writing, the basic ACL -compliant distribution is:
02.04.10-Jul_02-19_32
The complete distribution name is:
fckgLite-02.04.10-Jul_02-19_32.tgz
Dailies
The dailies are current distributions with the most recent changes. They are 'in process' and may have fixes and features which will be changed in a later set of dailies, but they are genera;;y safe to use. They are cumulative, i.e. the more recent dailies incorporate the changes made to earlier ones and will fix things that in earlier dailies turn out to need fixing. While they are called 'dailies', they may not in fact appear every day.
